Who says dreams can’t be pursued later in life? Tshegofatso Penyenye is a perfect example that there’s no expiration date on ambition. Even as a single mother in her late 30s, she never let go of her aspirations.
From a young age, Tshegofatso dreamt of making it big in the modeling and media industry. However, it wasn’t until her late 30s that she saw her dreams come to fulfilment when she became a finalist in the Miss Bachelorette 2024 competition.
“I’ve always had the desire to model, but fear often overshadowed my ambitions, until I decided to let go” shares Tshego.
Education
Born and bred in a small village called Mmatau in Rastenburg Northwest, where she completed her early education. She later moved to Johannesburg to pursue higher studies in electrical engineering. Financial struggles led her to seek employment.
Despite these challenges, Tshego remained focused on her goal of entering the media industry. She obtained a certificate in media presenting from Media Concept, sponsored by SABC.

Why Miss Bachelorette?
“Miss Bachelorette South Africa is a project aimed at empowering women and addressing issues of gender violence and femicide. It celebrates and honours unmarried women through beauty, fashion, and philanthropy. I was instantly drawn to the concept, hence I entered,”
Explains Tshego
Tshego hopes that unmarried women will take their time and not feel pressured by societal expectations.
